Corncrake Calling Project
Discover our fun, new interactive exhibition about one of Scotland's rarest birds. Help Secret Agent Corncrake discover why the noisy yet secretive corncrakes are disappearing from Scotland?
We're thrilled to be hosting Operation: Broken Feather. This interactive exhibition has been masterminded by RSPB Scotland as part of the Corncrake Calling project with support of the National Heritage Lottery Fund.
It was co-designed by SF+SH with students from Lochgelly High School, The Glasgow Academy, Berwickshire High School, Castlehead High School, St. Joseph’s Academy & Banff Academy.
Supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Corncrake Calling is a new four year project to save these small brown tawny members of the rail family.
Entry
The exhibition is open from 10am daily until 20 January, last entry is 3pm. Entry to the exhibition is FREE, but with a recommended donation of £5:00. If you would also like to visit the Discovery Experience please book tickets here.
About Corncrakes
The conservation status of the corncrake remains precarious. Corncrake Calling is essential to ensure the future of this iconic and secretive species in Scotland, protect other wildlife and help preserve the unique culture of rural Scottish communities.
Corncrakes are secretive birds with a very loud voice. On arrival into Scotland from Africa the crex-crex call of the males rings out continuously from long vegetation until they attract a mate.
