Leave a lasting legacy for Scotland’s seabirds
For over 25 years, the Scottish Seabird Centre has been a champion for Scotland’s iconic seabirds and a beacon for marine conservation. From the puffins of Craigleith to the gannets of Bass Rock, our work ensures these extraordinary creatures thrive for generations to come.
By leaving a gift in your will to the Scottish Seabird Centre, you can play a vital role in safeguarding our coastal wildlife, inspiring visitors, and advancing conservation long into the future. Your legacy will help us continue our mission to save seabirds, restore seas and inspire change.
Why leave a gift to the Scottish Seabird Centre in your will?
A gift in your will—no matter the size—is a powerful way to make a lasting difference. It costs nothing today, but its impact will be felt for years to come. Your gift will help:
- Save seabirds and marine life by funding our conservation programme on the incredible seabird islands in the Firth of Forth.
- Restore our coasts and seas by providing vital support for our restoration work along Scotland's coasts, on the islands in the Firth of Forth and at sea.
- Empower future generations by supporting our education work, which reaches thousands of children and young people every year.
- Inspire millions by ensuring the Scottish Seabird Centre continues to provide our community and visitors from across Scotland and the UK with meaningful and inspiring experiences with nature.
How to leave a gift in your will
Leaving a gift to the Scottish Seabird Centre in your will is simple. You can do so in one of the following ways:
1. Make an Amendment to Your Existing Will
If you already have a will, you can add a codicil—a legal amendment—to include a gift to the Scottish Seabird Centre. Your solicitor can help you draft this quickly and easily.
2. Write a New Will
If you don’t yet have a will, now is the perfect time to write one. A solicitor can guide you through the process and ensure your wishes are legally sound.
Remember, any gift, large or small, makes an enormous difference to our work. Unrestricted gifts for general purposes allow us to use the funds where they are most needed at the time, but if you have specific areas of our work that you would like to support we would welcome the opportunity to discuss these with you and to take them into account at the time your gift is received.
