Hosted as part of the Winter Wonders activity at The Scottish Seabird Centre, Liz from The Honeybee Sanctuary will deliver herbalism workshops with a focus on Coastal plants and seaweed for health and wellbeing.
This workshop will explore how Coastal ‘herbs’ - in the broadest definition to include trees, seaweed, and herbaceous perennials - can support healthy bodies and minds, exploring their healing properties and how we can respectfully and sustainably make herbal preparations from them.
- Taste two different coastal herbal infusions
- Sample sugar kelp crisps and Mermaid biscuits
- Make ‘Sea Zest’ herbal salt for your kitchen, with Sugar Kelp and Rosemary (perfect on chips!)
- Make an infused Epsom bath salt with Bladderwrack, Rosemary and Fennel for a detoxing and soothing bath experience.
The focus is to come together to enjoy some cosy, nurturing time together in these Winter months, in the inspiring setting of the Scottish Seabird Centre. You’ll take home two herbal preparations, and notes with recipes for the refreshments you sample.
Liz is also holding an adult's seashore herbalism workshop on 8 February, 7.30pm - 9pm. Full details here: Coastal Herbalism at The Scottish Seabird Centre — The Honeybee Sanctuary
