Meet Josh

Meet our brilliant boat office manager, Josh! Josh plays a key role in helping our visitors experience Scotland's incredible and inspiring marine wildlife.

What's Your Role?

My role is to manage the centre’s busy boat office. I maximise the schedule on a day-to-day basis to provide boat trips for customers (when the tides & wind & sea conditions permit). I also organise private tours on our Catamaran & RIB boats for larger groups.

What’s your favourite thing about working here?

It would have to be the views out to the local islands. I enjoy being harbour-side too, getting to know all the regulars & seeing all the boats every day. It’s also nice to work in a small team as everyone knows each other & you can talk to anyone.

What’s your favourite marine species?

It definitely has to be the oystercatcher. They’re a similar colour to puffins but just much better overall... And you can see them everywhere! They just stand out to me, especially on quiet mornings coming to work when you hear their unique call.
