Puffin Fest at the Scottish Seabird Centre
Scotland’s festival of puffins was back by popular demand, this year from 20 to 30 May.
Puffin Fest is a puffin’tastic 10-day celebration as the ‘clowns of the sea’ return to the Firth of Forth islands. Did you know the Isle of May is the biggest puffin colony on the east coast of Britain and Craigleith is home to the Seabird Centre’s SOS Puffin Project?
This year’s festival featured fascinating facts, games, activities and competitions for the whole family.
During the celebration of these wonderful, colourful seabirds there was a whole host of activities such as art workshops with Mandy Thomson and the Edinburgh Sketcher; puffin parties with Forth 1 and the RSPB; wildlife photography workshops with award-winning snapper, Tom Langlands; wildlife walks with Countryside Ranger Dave Wild plus lots more!
