World Oceans Day!
Join us on the 8th of June to celebrate World Oceans Day!
World Oceans Day, coordinated by The Ocean Project, encourages people all over the world to celebrate the ocean, its importance in our lives, and how each of us can protect it, no matter where we live.
Access to the Discovery Centre will FREE all day (10am to 6pm) so visitors can come down and talk to our expert staff about the amazing local marine wildlife.
First activity of the day will be a beach clean at 10:30am, in association with North Berwick Rotary Club. We have our 3D film at 12pm and guided rockpooling session at 12:30pm. In the afternoon there will be a range of activities; drop-in, fun, family craft sessions (2pm-4pm) in the education centre, a special performance of our fantastic live science show Oceanarific at 2pm and the team from the Lobster Hatchery will be giving a talk on their award-winning conservation project in the theatre at 4pm.
All events are free and tickets are issued on a first come first served basis, numbers for rockpooling, our live science show and the afternoon lobster hatchery talk are limited, so early arrival is recommended to book on the day.
Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
