To make planning your visit to the Scottish Seabird Centre as straightforward as possible, we have compiled a teachers' information pack with everything you need to know. Please also review the risk assessments.
Booking is essential for all indoor and outdoor education sessions, whether you are self-guided or taking part in one of our educational workshops. Have you had a look at our Seaside School programme?
Fill out an enquiry form, call +44 (0)1620 890202 or email education@seabird.org to discuss possible dates and arrange a provisional booking.
Please have alternative dates available as we may not always be able to accommodate your first choice, particularly during the summer term.
One workshop: £3.50 per school child (£3.00 East Lothian Council schools); £1.50 for pre-school nursery pupils (ages 4+ only).
Two workshops: £4.50 per school child (£4.00 East Lothian Council schools); £2.50 for pre-school nursery pupils (ages 4+ only).
Tertiary: £4.00 per student.
Boat package deal: £9.00 per pupil and £16 per adult (April to September)
This can include a visit to the award-winning Discovery Centre. Please contact us for further information.
Pre-school nursery - 1 adult for every 3 children (ages 4+ only).
Primary and secondary - 1 adult for every 6 children.
There is no charge for teachers and adult helper within these ratios. Additional adults cost £6.50 each.
Please note: we are happy to provide educational visits for groups of children aged four years and above. We are unable to support younger children in our Education Centre but parents and teachers are welcome to make separate arrangements/ group bookings for young children with our Discovery Centre team. Please email info@seabird.org for more info.
Free planning visits are available to teachers. We recommend a planning visit to ensure your group get the most from their trip.
