What you need to know
To make planning your visit to the Scottish Seabird Centre as straightforward as possible, we have compiled a teachers' information pack with everything you need to know. This covers parking, risk assessment plus booking information.
How to book a visit
Booking is essential for all indoor and outdoor education sessions, whether you are self-guided or taking part in one of our educational workshops. Have you had a look at our Seaside School programme?
Fill out an enquiry form, call +44 (0)1620 890202 or email email@example.com to discuss possible dates and arrange a provisional booking.
Please have alternative dates available as we may not always be able to accommodate your first choice, particularly during the summer term.
Indoor: £3.50 per school child (£3 East Lothian Council schools); £1.50 for nursery pupils.
Outdoor: £4.50 per school child (£4 East Lothian Council schools); £2.50 for nursery pupils.
This includes entry to the award-winning Discovery Centre.
All schools must pay the full balance on or before the date of the visit. Payment is based on numbers booked. Cheques, cash and credit/debit cards are accepted. An invoice may be raised with prior arrangement and must be settled in full before the date of the visit.
Cancellation: No refund will be given if you cancel less than two weeks prior to a scheduled visit.
Adult to pupil ratios
Nursery - 1 adult for every 3 children.
Primary and secondary - 1 adult for every 6 children.
There is no charge for teachers and adult helper within these ratios. Additional adults cost £6.50 each.
Free planning visits are available to teachers. We recommend a planning visit to ensure your group get the most from their trip.
If you have any questions please get in touch - we are always happy to help. We aim to make your class trip as enjoyable for you, as it is for your pupils.
